Do I need a tourist card to fly to Mexico? Toggle faqs

The FMM tourist card is only required to travel to Mexico by land or sea. If you’re planning on flying to Mexico you do not need to apply.

Note: The tourist card is not a visa. You may still be required to have a visa to enter Mexico.

What do I do if I have 2 passports? Toggle faqs

You must use the same passport to apply for the FMM tourist card as you will to enter Mexico. The details on both of these documents must be the same.

Yes, if the traveler is too young to complete the application themselves a parent or guardian can complete the application on their behalf.

There’s no official rule to say which document you need to apply for first. However, it’s recommended that you start the visa application process first, as this can take longer than the tourist card.
